For nearly 50 years, Norman and Ethel Thayer have
spent summers in a cabin on Golden Pond.
Sharp-tongued Norman is approaching his 80th
birthday and flirting with senility and frail health while
his devoted wife Ethel, ten years younger, is still agile
and energetic. When their daughter, Chelsea, comes to
visit, she brings along her dentist boyfriend and his
adolescent son, as well as long-harbored ill-feelings
toward her father. Chelsea and her boyfriend go to
Europe, leaving the boy with Ethel and Norman, who
soon develop a close relationship with him that helps
restore some of Norman's lost vigor and confidence.
The 1981 film version starred Katherine Hepburn,
Henry Fonda and real life daughter Jane. Both a
light-hearted comedy and touching drama,
On Golden
Pond
celebrates the triumphs of life, love and family.

The 1954 musical that introduced the legendary Julie
Andrews to America,
The Boy Friend is a jazzy,
romantic spoof of 1920s musical comedy. Set in and
around a boarding school for "perfect young ladies,"
romance blooms on the French Riviera as an English
heiress suddenly falls for the delivery boy and
professes her love at the Grand Ball. A family favorite,
this joyful comedy sparkles and will leave you floating
on air with "Won't You Charleston with Me?" "It's
Never Too Late to Fall in Love," and also "Fancy
Forgetting" sung by Francesca Scarpa and Gary Scarpa
as Madame Dubonet and Sir Percival Brown!

Our big Youth CONNection production will be
Thoroughly Modern Millie – a high-spirited musical
that took Broadway by storm, winning six Tony
Awards including Best Musical in 2002. Set in 1922 in
New York, it is the story of young Millie Dillmount,
who has just moved to the city in search of a new life
for herself. It is a New York full of intrigue and jazz - a
time when women were entering the workforce and the
rules of love and social behavior were changing
forever. Based on the popular movie, which starred
Julie Andrews, Thoroughly Modern Millie is a show
filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a
dragon-lady of a villainess audiences love to hate. Join
us at Shelton High School for a perfectly constructed
evening of madcap merriment.

What seems like an open-and shut murder case
becomes a twisted puzzle of prejudice and intrigue.
Twelve jurors in a murder trial are corralled in a room
for the duration of their deliberation. As prejudices are
tested and evidence is weighed, the entire jury is forced
to look past the show of the courtroom to unearth the
shocking truth. Faced with playing the hangmen, these
dozen men must first face themselves. The 1957
classic film starring Henry Fonda, Lee J. Cobb, E. G.
Marshall, and Jack Klugman is consistently listed
among the greatest films of all time. Don't miss Center
Stage's production of
Twelve Angry Men!
